I like the idea of SaaS without HaaS very much. In my experience, the SMB market will still go with SaaS. In fact, in many verticals, they love the idea of taking the responsibility of securing their data off their shoulders. And yet, SaaS without Haas can be the ultimate answer to the large enterprise market, that has still not fully adopted the services model, for some of the reasons that you counted.

If you look at companies such as Scansafe, Qualys, Purewire and others, they focus on the SMB market. Companies like ISS (nowdays IBM) do adopt some of the on-site options. Qualys, BTW, does implement SaaS without Haas in its full meaning.

Love it! But don't you ever find yourself playing a different role, wearing a different mask? Every once a while, even the most efficient bloggers (from those I've tracked) go into silence, or passive blogging mode, not really creating as much as they are mirroring and linking.

Kfir is clearly looking for satire, but I have to agree with you, there are way too many of the smooth talking slick guys walking around who throw around all the right words but provide no substance. Ahh, life on the edge.

The link to Tsahar's article on 2.0 is broken.
It should be http://contentman.wordpress.com/2007/04/05/%d7%93%d7%99-20/
Probably a side effect of using Hebrew

I never decline invites (and must confess that I never get ones from people I don't know). However, I would never accept invites of people if I don't want them to be part of my network. I think it's a little different from exchanging business cards, as your business cared will stay with just that one person, while online everyone knows you and that person are connected.
